2017 Regattas

Sweeps and Sculls, Saturday, July 15, 2017

Head of the Seekonk, Saturday, September 23, 2017

The Seekonk River is host to three regional regattas each year: the Mayor’s Cup (not being held in 2017), the Sweeps and Sculls, and the Head of the Seekonk. NBC also hosts the Rhode Island Interscholastic Regatta each spring. Sprint races are held on a 2000m race course  which finishes in front of the boat club, while head races begin in the Narragansett Bay and utilize the natural curvature of the Bay and River to provide a fun and challenging race.

NBC also hosts three intramural regattas for class participants and club members: the Cord Grass Sprints and the Firebee Sprints in the summer, and the Konquer the ‘Konk head race in the fall. Each regatta has a number of events which allow juniors of all skill levels to demonstrate what they’ve learned in a fun and competitive environment.
