WRC Update – NBC’ers Advance to Semis

Rotterdam, The Netherlands: We now move on to our four scullers at the U23 and Junior World Rowing Championships held in Rotterdam. Many thanks to Andrew Kallfelz, father of the Kallfelz sisters we have the following update. The short version is that Brigid Kennedy’s Lightweight Women’s Quad will be racing in the B Final on Thursday versus Austria and Denmark. Jack Luby qualified for the Quarter Finals for the Men’s Junior Singles. There are 29 scullers in his event. Emily and Eliza Kallfelz won their heat on Sunday and placed second in their Semi-Final, so they will race in the A Final on Friday versus GER, GBR, BLR, ROU, DEN. Eliza Kallfelz won her Junior Women’s Single heat, so she goes directly to her Semi-Final as well. Best wishes to all of our scullers and their coaches: Peter Wilhelm and Andrew Kallfelz.

The weather conditions are finally beautiful after a few days of truly ugly weather (very wet and windy). It is supposed to actually be quite hot today, so after all the heat in New England this summer, those US crews that have been training in the North East should feel right at home.
