Friday’s (June 12) Race Results for the USRowing Youth National Championships in Bradenton-Sarasota, FL at Nathan Benderson Park.

Scullers and crews must qualify for the Sunday Finals by racing in a preliminary heat, a semi-final, and then the final. All races are 2000 meters in length.

It was a great start at the Youth Nationals for the massive contingent of NBC scullers led by Coach Peter Wilhelm. Most of the NBC scullers advanced directly to the semi-final for their events. Peter McKendall did not, but he has a chance to make it by racing in the repechage heat for his event.

Emily Kallfelz started the day off by winning her singles heat by 22 seconds and posting second fastest time of the day for the Women's Youth Single Sculls.

Brigid Kennedy also made it directly to semis for the Women’s Youth Singles placing third in her heat and 6th fastest time overall.

Jack Luby won his heat in the Men’s Youth Single Sculls by 2 seconds, posting the second fastest time overall against very tough field of elite scullers.

Peter McKendall came in third in his tough Men’s Singles heat and third in this morning's repechage. He needed second to qualify for the semis.

Emily and Eliza Kallfelz won their heat in the Women’s Youth Double Sculls and posted the fastest overall time by 10 seconds.

Artym Hyda and Toby Satterthwaite won their heat in the Men’s Youth Lightweight Doubles by 12 seconds and posted the fastest overall time in their event.
